Cast Member: Cheung Bing-Yuk

It is a film that deserves to be watched by fans of all genres though and, alongside classics like ‘Come Drink With Me’, acts as a perfect portfolio for the late, great King Hu.

Of itself ‘Ghost of the Mirror’ is a slight, though enjoyable fantasy romance. As an early film from an actress who would become one of Asia’s legends, it is fascinating.

This is a film that begins with optimism only to quickly revert to the old formula that had been so over-used.

It’s certainly not perfect and not among Jackie Chan’s best films, but there is ample entertainment value.
