Jackie Chan makes the list of highest paid actors

Forbes has just published its annual list of the world’s highest-paid celebrities for 2016. Chinese action superstar Jackie Chan, who earned US$ 61 million between July 2015 and June 2016, ranks #23. He is the only Chinese actor who has made it into the top-100 list.
The actor has been particularly busy recently, having starred in 4 new films, which include Renny Harlin’s ‘Skiptrace‘, Ding Sheng’s ‘Railroad Tigers‘, Stanley Tong’s ‘Kung Fu Yoga‘ and Martin Campbell’s ‘The Foreigner’.
Chan has enjoyed great box office success in China over the past few years but has recently been widely criticised by Chinese netizens for not posting messages showing his support for China after the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague ruled against the country’s claims over territorial control in the South China Sea. It will be interesting to see whether this affects the box office performance of his new films.
