The critically acclaimed Japanese documentary ‘We Are X’ will celebrate its UK Film Premiere on the 28th February at Picturehouse Central in London. The film will then be released in UK cinemas nationwide for one night only on 2nd March (with encore screenings), followed by it’s On Demand, DVD and Blu-ray releases on 1st May 2017.

Directed by Stephen Kijak (‘Stones in Exile’, ‘Scott Walker: 30 Century Man’), and produced by the Oscar-winning production team behind ‘Searching for Sugar Man’, ‘We Are X’ is a transcendent and beautifully shot rock & roll story about the most successful rock band in Japanese history, X Japan. It was officially selected for the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW and the BFI London Film Festival and won multiple awards.

Synopsis: X Japan ignited a musical revolution in Japan during the late 80’s with their melodic metal & flamboyant fashion. 20 years after their tragedy-fueled split, enigmatic leader Yoshiki battles physical & spiritual demons alongside Western prejudices in a final attempt to bring their music to the world.

Both the soundtrack and various home video formats of the film are available for pre-order now from Amazon.co.uk. X Japan are also doing a world tour this year and tickets are still available to see them at the SSE Arena in Wembley on March 4, 2017.
