Far East Films (previously Dragon's Den UK) was created in 1999 by Phil Mills and was originally intended as a personal webpage. As the site grew, the focus shifted solely to his love of Asian cinema and he bought Andrew Saroch on board so that they could turn it into a news/reviews site.

Over the years that followed, the site went through numerous facelifts and drafted in several new writers which have all helped to develop the site into one of the most popular dedicated Asian movie sites on the web.
