Phil triggered this with a comment on the Ghost Writer. What's everyone's favourite bad accents in films or tv shows? For me the king of bad accents is Sean Connery, he's such a plank he doesn't even try.

The Scottish Irishman, the Scottish English king, the Scottish Italian swordsman. The list just goes on.

I'd probably have to plump for Dick Van Dyke's classic British cockney in 'Mary Poppins' as the worst. Honorary mentions would also have to go to Leonardo DiCaprio in 'Gangs Of New York', Keanu Reeves in 'Dracula' and Jason Statham in just about every movie where he attempts an American accent.
