Talk about everything non-movie related

Hey all, Came across this site while browsing across many eastern cinema review sites. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and quantity of reviews available, as well as the up to date and informative news segments on the front page - but enough praise, I thought I could benefit from the vast knowledge garden of Far East Films, hence signing up to converse with fellow eastern cinephiles! Fav HK Film: Hard Boiled, Once Upon a Time in China 1&2, Project A, Police Story Fav East Asian Film: Versus, Casshern Fav Stars: Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Donnie Yen, Wu Jing, Tak Sakaguchi, Tony Leung Chiu Wai Film that got me into Asian cinema: Seven Samurai and Jackie Chan's The Young Master Obviously I could have filled pages and pages with these responses, but I had to limit myself. I hate this... having to choose I mean.

I haven't been on this site in a while! Thought I might have to re-introduce myself haha!
I've been busy with Uni work and stuff so I haven't been able to visit the forum. I've pretty much finished now, after a great Asian Cinema module and Video Production practical. In addition, if anyone is interested in the works of John Woo, can read my investigation on John Woo and his method of "creative synthesis" between Eastern and Western cinematic traditions, just let me know.
I also had to do a presentation on violence in Korean cinema, in which we created a compilation of scenes from famous violent scenes from Korean films, which I can also provide if people are interested.
Anyway, I hope to be a common visitor once again now that I have a bit more free time!

Similar to Ryuk I also have been struggling to find time to make it on here, after I found the place again and made a few posts I was just about to start my degree and I can't believe how quick the time has flown by since then.
It's been keeping me busy and the projects never end, but we've pretty much broke for the summer now so here I am again.....I hope I can make more of an effort to get on in future though.

Hi All, I came across FEF when I was searching reviews of some of my favourite films with the intent of following the site that best aligned with my tastes. To say the least, I found the reviews here intelligent, well informed & enjoyable. Finally after following on Facebook, I saw a post saying join the forums (which I did not notice because I tend to stick to the home page & go to reviews when encountered with a movie I have not seen or heard of.) & voila, I'm here So to continue the format; Fav HK Film: Fearless Hyena/Armour of God 1/Police Story 2/Who Am I all equally. Fav Stars: Obviously Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, Li Lien Jie, Lau Kar-leung, Maggie Cheung & recently Jaycee Fong (purely for his acting ability) Nicholas Tse. Film that got me into Asian cinema:I have been watching since the mid to late 70's, so the one I remember as a child that got me demanding more Asian cinema was the 7 Grandmasters, but my childhood favourite was & still is Fearless Hyena. Kia Ora from New Zealand

Welcome to the board and thanks for such kind words about the site A good selection of films and stars there, particularly nice to see Fearless Hyena getting some love as it is one of the early classics from Jackie that is often overlooked. Shame about the sequel
