What are you reading?Re: What are you reading?Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Unfortunately I'm reading the book after watching the TV series in its entirety (so far). Is that allowed?

Re: What are you reading?I don't think it matters. I saw the first two series before I started reading the books. Read the first three before series 3 aired, then read the fourth book. The books take a slightly different path to the series so it is a bit strange mixing them. The first book does follow the first series to a point, but after that there is very little in common. Great TV series and a great series of books too.

Re: What are you reading?Just finished Smells Like Dead Elephants by Matt Taibi. Amazing articles mostly relating to the American political system. He really shows how intensely corrupt the system of US government was during the Bush years without being as preachy as Michael Moore.

Re: What are you reading?Reading/looking at Tsutomu Takahashi's Sky High スカイハイ.
This is the third time i've read this manga, and if it's possible I enjoyed it even more. It helps i've been using it as an excuse to not do any work. AT WORK! In all seriousness it's possibly my favourite Manga ever. It's dark but full of love and emotion too. I need hair like Izuko. The TV series and film are great too.
Re: What are you reading?John Woo - The Films by Kenneth E. Hall. A bit heavy going to be honest with loads of film comparisons and references to other directors who's work influenced Woo. Some I got. Some I didn't. It only covers up until 1997 and at times becomes a little too wordy and simply tedious. Sadly it employs the why use one sentence when a dozen will do approach.

Re: What are you reading?DC's Cry For Justice. Really a lot of people standing around in their smalls shouting JUSTICE!
Also a book about Shockumentarys and Chas Balum's Horror Holocaust. I've been tempted by the Kenneth Hall book but I've never seen it cheap. films to watch is 52 aie!

Re: What are you reading?Just finished Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. It was one of those novels I always intended to read a long time ago, but for some reason never got round to it. Now suitably inspired and loved it. Brilliant prose, with a fin-de-cycle story of sex and suicides.
Comic-wise, I just got Vol. 4 of DCs Starman Omnibus. I collected the issues when they came out, but my rather random approach to storage (stuff them in boxes) means i'll never dig them out again. Probably the weakest of the collections so far (crossovers with Shazam and Hellboy smell of editorial/commerce over artistic intent), but still streets ahead of the rubbish I am seeing recently from DC.
Re: What are you reading?currently:
Book- the Blindside Manga - Gantz Comics - too many to mention reference: 2009 NFL record and fact book
