Korean kung-fu 70s style

Postby ASaroch on Thu May 06, 2010 10:37 am

Films like these seem very rare in terms of availability, but the few clips on youtube look promising. Casanova Wong in his homeland and some rarer Kim Won Jun and Hwang Jang Lee make it worth finding, but have any of these ever made it on to dvd?

I'm having a go at trying to find some 70s and early 80s Korean kung fu movies. Hopefully, one of my Korean friends will be getting on the phone tomorrow to see what we can get our hands on.

It would be very interesting to see more of Casanova's stuff and Hwang is always amazing. Baron, you should go on a hunt for an interview with them... if they haven't gone to kung fu heaven.

Apparently he did both but rumour has it he has now retired to an island in Korea

You guys should sign up for the Korean Film Archive video on demand service - they have old films on their that you can watch for free. You need to e-mail them for a sign in, but they have some action stuff on there as well as some old horror, etc - http://www.kmdb.or.kr/eng/vod/eventPage.asp
