North by Northwest on blu-ray. if I can't be James Stewart, I want to be Cary Grant. And I can drool over Eva Marie Saint...in hi-def

Easily Hitchcock's best movie for dialogue ("How does a girl like you get to be a girl like you?" - "Lucky, I guess."), if not my favourite of his movies overall

(I dream of Vertigo...)

"Let The Right One In" 4.5/5

I really wasn't expecting all the hype from this Swedish Vampire film to ring true, but this is a great movie and highly recommended. The story about a bullied outsider who finds friendship with a 200 year old vampire (who looks like a little girl)and through that relationship gains some confidence in himself is handled with style and some genuine emotion. The horror element is kept quite low to tell the more human side of the story but there are a few shocking scenes that are nicely underplayed. I am curious now to read the original book which delves deeper into the horror aspect.

Just got Serenity on blu-ray. It's not often that I double-dip these days but I love this film and wanted it for the extras and the , ahem, shiny transfer...
