So what do we think a giant leap for Mr Chan, a step in the right direction ?

The review on Twitch today wasn't exactly glowing but it looks like it might be worth a watch. I do think its wise for Chan to try and shift away from action but I'm not sure his acting skills are up to the challenge of full-blown dramas

It may come down to the director taking control and not letting him over act his socks off. Jackie has done broad comedic stuff for so long now it may be a habit hard too hard for him to break. His "dramatic" scenes in "New Police Story" were far from convincing.

I'd judge his dramatic ability on 'Crime Story' where he was superb. I think he's always had the ability to handle dramatic scenes, but really needs a strong director to keep his performances the right side of melodramatic.

I actually thought he was a really convincing alcoholic. Wait, no, that was when he jumped on stage at that concert three years ago slightly worse for wear... NPS was a no-show compared to Crime Story which was pretty good all round, although sometimes I think Jackies idea of 'serious' acting is to just put that miserable looking face on. The Twitch review doesn't make it sound like a 'must see' although I'm not sure the person writing the review has even seen Crime Story as it doesn't get a mention but it's surely the closest thing Jackie has done to this. Still, from the trailer alone I reckon the Shinjuku Incident looks well worth having a gander...

Yeah, much like everyone I am dismayed at JC's recent films, I think this he deserves a bit of respect for trying to do something different, hell at least give the guy a chance, if not then for the sake of all that is good, get the Dragons togther for one more film, Yuen, Sammo, Jackie PLEASE!
