Cine-Asia UK Upcoming releases Blu-Ray & DVD

Postby ThunderKat on Fri May 01, 2009 3:12 pm

Hello fellas,
Don't know if you already know, but the Cine-Asia label launched in 2007, is buliding up it releases this year, with some fantastic films.
They recently released Chocolate, The Empress & the Warriors and (the excellent) GP-506 on Blu-ray.
The website http://www.cine-asia.co.uk/ states, their made up of former Hong Kong Legends staff, so should be in good hands. I know a few of their early releases were poor. But Chocolate and Flashpoint was excellent & so was GP-506.

Yeah another format, I mean VHS was cool ok bulky but I swear dvd's are worse one scratch and thats it, at least VHS had that certain grainy style to it :D

Once they realised that there was a demand for the best A/V experience, it just became another area of technology that is open to exploitation. We will now find that the "all new bigger and better" version is just around the corner and we'll constantly be forced to upgrade!

I can't say that I'm particularly interested in any of those. Machine Girl is an enjoyable film though.

They don't re-translate their films. 'Chocolate' had slightly sub-standard subtitles. They don't include DTS or English dubs either.

They are otherwise excellent, however.

"Machine Girl" is a must. "The Beast Stalker" may be worth a look too. ;)

It depends on the quality of the extras for "Ip Man"

I've seen it and I'm sure it was on rental so it has already been available in the UK. It has a few nice shocks, but it's average stuff at best.
