Thanks :) or "Dor Jay Sai" ;)

It's nice to be back and see the familiar names. :D

The last few years or so have been really time-consuming with education and meeting people from school for the first time.

On the net side of things, I got really carried away with MySpace, Facebook and YouTube.

Armour of God has always struck me as one of the most intriguing films to come out of Hong Kong. 8-) If there was one HK movie I could get as much info on, it would be this one. :geek:

I think it would be nice to know what Lau Kar Wing, Eric Tsang and Alan Tam have to say about the missing footage.

There's never been too much in-depth information on some of Jackie's movies. His autobiography was a catch 22 in that his Peking Opera days are covered extensively well but a lot of his films are just relegated to passing references. :( Then there's the fact that co-author Jeff Yang relied on Ric Meyers, who is well known for his blunders (of which the book has been subjected to  ).

I think it's also a shame that JC's auto-bio doesn't contain too much in the way of professional anecdotes - what his feelings are of working with cast and crew, production trivia or even hobbies. :|

It's strange how Jackie can remember so much from his childhood but little in the way of diary extraction from his movies. :?

He should have just released two books  Jackie Chan: My Life and Jackie Chan: My Films. (with the latter co-written by Bey Logan and Mike Leeder :P )

Let's hope that Sammo's biography will be better. :ugeek:

What's always concerned me is whether director Lo Wei wrote a book about his experiences with Jackie and Bruce. :?: Heck, even Robert Clouse wrote a book about Lee. :!: I wonder what Lo's side of the story is because one actor had mentioned that the animosity between Lee and Wei was exaggerated. :o

If there was such a book released prior to his death, let's see what he has to say for himself about Killer Meteors and To Kill with Intrigue.

In the next few months, I'm going to try and find all the various Westerners who've appeared in HK films so I can ask them about their experiences. 8-) Then I will find a way to get them to join this site in the same way Sammo increased the population of his town in Millionaire's Express.

I suppose you could say Bruce fulfilled his wish (of which he once told Dan Inosanto) that he wants people who watch Chinese films to not only appreciate Chinese culture but also watch other Asian films and appreciate what they have. :)

I have an idea for a project which is an extension of Bruce's goal - it's to make a feature-length production (approximately 108 minutes) involving a series of music videos which are more akin to short movies  than the formulaic nature  of the stuff (or fluff) affiliated with the likes of MTV and Kerrang.

The whole point behind it is to make a crossover project where people who like rock music become infatuated with Asian cinema and same thing vice-versa. ;) I have these friends of mine who have the potential to form a band which does many styles of rock music - particularly doing many styles of heavy metal (blues, pop, orchestral, reggae, industrial, jazz, punk, country, folk and groove).

On an aesthetic level, there will be a multitude of references to a plethora of different things - American horror movies, Japanese cartoons, Chinese martial arts movies :D , the British film A Clockwork Orange, American cartoons, Japanese computer games :P , the British comic book Tank Girl and the American comic book X Men. On top of this, I want the Korean actor Shin Ha-kyun and the Thai actor Tony Jaa to have big roles. 8-)

The film will be called Contra (a Latin term meaning opposites which is used for words like contravene, contrary, contrast and contradiction). :geek:

The film will begin with a title card explaining the meaning but there won't be an opening credit sequence. :ugeek:

The final music video will have the closing credit sequence come in towards the end before the song finishes (a playful twist to the tradition of a film which has a song play as the credits roll).

The film will contain songs from what would be my band's second album (of the same name as the cinematic project). The album will have 20 songs but, due to the length of songs, there will be 4 discs. The first disc will have 2 songs, the second disc will have 4 songs, the third disc will have 6 songs and the fourth disc will have 8 songs. In doing so, a numerical pattern is created. The album will, altogether, have four hours worth of material.

One song in particular, Contradictory, will be akin to listening to an album in that it's a lengthy song which will have lots of different melodies, tonal transitions and with plenty of genre-hopping to draw comparisons with Mr. Bungle and Queen. 8-)

I want Wong Jing to be the director. :P

As for the action scenes, I want to get away from Y.W. Ping, C.Y. Kwai and C.S. Tung because they're so over-used to the point that having them on board (complete with the usual marketing tag-lines associated with them) would end up creating an aura of commercial fatigue (it must be the umpteenth time now when some form of advertisement announces "...from the fight choreographer of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Matrix!").

Here's my ideal list of fight choreographers...

1) Sammo, Biao, Yuen Wah, Jackie Chan and Billy Chan Wui Ngai.

2) Lau Kar Leung, Lee King Chue, Lau Kar Wing and Hsiao Hou. :D

3) Kuo Chui, Lu Feng, Robert Tai Chi and Leung Ting. ;)

4) Tom Chin Yuet Sang and Tyrone Hsu Hsia. 8-)

5) Tony Leung Siu Hung. :)

Glad you all like the signature guys, and thanks for the greetings. Will have a good look around the site and start inputing what I can, I have seen Ong Bak 2 ASaroch and personally I loved it. Getting a right old slating but given the 'circumstances' around the filming, I think it turned out very well. I have a few Tony Jaa videos on Youtube, so please check them out. First one is a montage of the best scenes for me from Ong Bak 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1J-QxdFTHAo

It took me what seemed like a lifetime to get the soundtrack to go with the video. I used the original Ong Bak soundtrack, which I love. Dont know why the hell they decided to 'westernise' it!

Second video is My Top 10 Tony Jaa scenes. My personal Top 10 Tony Jaa moments from all 3 of his current releases, Ong Bak, Tom Yum Goong and Ong Bak 2. Could have put loads more other scenes in this list, but these are the ones that stood out to me the most.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7KNDEPIl1U

and check out my top 5 martial arts films from recently

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnekwxI8p2w

Dont forget to rate my videos if you like ;)
