Metrodome Video have announced the UK DVD release of 'The Fifth Commandment' for the 23rd February 2009. The film features action choregraphy by the team behind 'The Transporter' and stars Rick Yune ('Die Another Day') as an assassin who becomes a target when he turns down a job.

The live-action remake of the hit anime 'Blood: The Last Vampire' has finally been given a UK theatrical release date of the 12th June 2009. The movie is directed by Chris Nahon ('Kiss Of The Dragon') and marks the English-language film debut of Korean actress Jun Ji-Hyun ('My Sassy Girl').

Third Window Films have announced the UK DVD release of 'The President's Last Bang' for the 23rd February 2009. Loosely based on a  true story, the film centres around the life of  Korean President Park Chung-hee (played by Song Jae-ho) and the events leading up to his assassination.

In a recent radio interview, Jean Claude Van Damme informed the host that he is currently considering several sequels to his most popular movies. Amongst the projects were the long-rumoured 'Bloodsport 2' (which is apparently very close to fruition) and a a direct follow-up to Universal's 'Timecop'.

Revolver Entertainment have announced the UK DVD and Blu-Ray releases of 'JCVD' for the 2nd February 2009. The film is something of a departure for Jean Claude Van Damme as he plays himself, a down-and-out action star whose family and career are crumbling around him.

This year's ninth issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce that a "Lupin III vs Detective Conan" television special is currently in the works. The show will utilise an original treasure-based storyline that will force a legendary match between the two heroes.

Universe have announced the HK DVD release of 'Ip Man' for the 13th February 2009. Directed by Wilson Yip and starring Donnie Yen, the film is a biopic of the legendary Wing Chun master/teacher, Yip Man. It will be available in both a single disc and 2-disc special edition 

Huayi Brothers are preparing to start work on 'Sound of Wind'', a period spy flick that revolves around communists battling Japanese invaders. Zhou Xun ('Painted Skin') and Zhang Hanyu ('Red Cliff') headline the cast, while Chen Kuo-fu (producer of 'Assembly) co-directs with Gao Qunshu ('Tokyo Trial').

Word is out in Thailand that actress Jeeja Yanin, who made an impressive debut in Prachya Pinkaew’s 'Chocolate', has already started work on her second feature. The as-yet untitled project will reportedly be an action romance that sees Yanin playing opposite a mixed-race male star (a rarity in Thailand).

The first teaser trailer has arrived for 'Tracing Shadow', a new big-budget wuxia movie directed by Francis Ng and starring Jaycee Chan ('2 Young'). The story for the film was apparently devised as a tribute to the martial arts classics of the past, such as King Hu's 'Dragon Inn' and 'Come Drink With Me'.
