Wilson Yip, director of the 'Ip Man' action film series, revealed Sunday that the third installment, if made, would focus on Bruce Lee, the best-known student of Ip Man. Yip told the media that the appearance of a young Bruce Lee at the end of 'Ip Man 2' was preparation for the possibility of a sequel.

The VIZ Cinema in San Francisco will be holding a 5-day 'Kaiju Shakedown: Godzillathon!', running from Saturday, May 8th through to Thursday, May 13th. The screenings will include 'Godzilla vs. Hedora' (1971), 'Godzilla vs. Gigan' (1972), 'Godzilla vs. Megalon' (1973), and 'Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla' (1974).

The trailer and poster art have been released for 'Dream Home', the new slasher flick from director Pang Ho Cheung ('Men Suddenly In Black'). The film stars Josie Ho as a young woman so desperate to own a particular apartment that she starts murdering tenants in the area to deflate home prices.

Fresh from his haul of seven awards at the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Director, Teddy Chen will be attending this year's Terracotta Far East Film Festival. Chen's 'Bodyguards And Assassins' will be the closing film for the festival, which runs from the 6th - 9th May 2010.

A second, slightly longer teaser trailer has been released for 'Beck', the live-action adaptation of Harold Sakuishi’s long-running band manga. Directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi ('20th Century Boys' trilogy), the story centres around five young guys who want nothing more than to play in a rock band.

Shooting has started on director Zhang Yimou's 'Hawthorn Tree Forever', an adaptation of Chinese author Aimi Zhu's period drama. The story centres around an innocent but repressed romance between a city girl of a condemned political background and a young man from a rural village.

Third Window Films have announced the UK DVD release of 'Instant Swamp' for the 24th May, 2010. Directed by Miki Satoshi ('Adrift In Tokyo'), the film is a quirky comedy that stars Aso Kumiko ('Achilles And The Tortoise') as a lonely young woman who goes in search of her long lost father.

On the 24th April, 2010, The Japan Society in New York will be screening 'New Tale Of Zatoichi' and 'The Sword Of Seduction'. This second-to-last screening marks the final appearance of Shintaro Katsu’s Zatoichi as well as the introduction of Raizo Ichikawa’s Nemuri Kyoshiro.

Metrodome Video have announced the UK DVD release of 'The Assassin's Blade' (AKA 'Butterfly Lovers') for the 3rd May, 2010. Directed by Jingle Ma ('Tokyo Raiders'), the film is a martial arts orientated retelling of a fabled love story that is often referred to as the Chinese ‘Romeo & Juliet’.

The trailer has been released for 'Mutant Girls Squad', the first title due for release from Nikkatsu's new cult film label Sushi Typhoon. Directed by Yoshihiro Nishimura ('Tokyo Gore Police'), Noboru Iguchi ('Machine Girl') and Tak Sakaguchi, the film offers up more typically blood-soaked, action-packed antics.
