Production has started on a new kung fu comedy entitled 'Legend Of The Blademaster'. Directed by Yuan Hong Bing, the film stars Ashton Chen (AKA Shi Xiao Long) as an incompetent swordsman who cheats his way around town by pretending to be the infamous Beggar Su.

Metrodome have announced the UK DVD release of 'Axis Of War: The First Of August' for the 10th May, 2010. The film is the first in a three-part series that takes place during the Nanchang uprising of the Chinese Civil War in 1927. The cast includes Liu Jin, Hou Youg, Wu Waidong, and Zhang Zaixin.

The trailer has been released for 'Evil Ninja', a new historical action flick from director Seiji Chiba ('Aliens Vs. Ninja'). The film stars Masashi Goda and Shuji Kashiwabara as members of the Iga ninja clan as they prepare to endure Oda Nobunaga’s final assault against them in 1581.

Mega Star have announed the HK DVD and Blu-Ray releases of 'Fire Of Conscience' for the 14th May, 2010. Directed by Dante Lam ('The Beast Stalker'), the film is a powerhouse action thriller that stars Leon Lai and Richie Ren as opposing cops with dark pasts that build to even darker consequences.

The trailer has been released for 'Ocean Heaven' (previously 'Ocean Paradise'), a new contemporary drama starring Jet Li. Directed by debut filmmaker Xue Xiaolu, the project marks the first non-action role for Li and focuses on the relationship between a father and his autistic son.

On the 14th May, 2010, The Japan Society in New York will be screening Kazuo Ikehiro’s 'The Lone Stalker' and Kenji Misumi’s 'The Devil’s Temple'. Both films are considered to be extremely rare and offer fans the chance to experience the unique talents of Raizo Ichikawa and Shintaro Katsu.

The trailer and poster art have been released for 'The Love Of Three Smile - Scholar And Beauty', a new period comedy from actor-director Guo Degang. The film apparently adds a comedic slant to the well-known tale of Tang Bohu, and portrays the scholar as a pirate who plays hip hop music.

Zhang Hanyu, who starred in last year's Chinese espionage blockbuster 'The Message', has revealed that filming on a sequel is scheduled to begin in November. Zhang went on to say that he will appear in the sequel, and that screenwriter Kuo-Fu Chen is close to finishing the script.
