Director Tao Ming Xi ('Taishan Kung Fu') is currently working on the script and scouting locations for his new film, which is tentatively titled 'Paladin Du Xin Wu'. The 30m yuan project is based on the life of national hero and martial arts master Du Xin Wu, who once served as Dr Sun Yat Sen's bodyguard.

Viz Media have announced the US DVD release of 'Honey and Clover Box Set, Vol. 1' for the 22nd September 2009. The 3-disc set contains the first 12 episodes of the romantic comedy anime, which depicts the lives and relationships of a group of art school students who live in the same apartment building.

In a recent press conference, it was revealed that Go Nagai's ('Cutey Honey') mature comedy manga, 'The Abashiri Family' is to be turned into a live-action film. The original manga ran from 1969-1973 and was first published in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine.

Veteran Hong Kong actor Shing Fui On has died at the age of 54, following a five-year battle with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a form of throat cancer). He reportedly spent his last minutes surrounded by family and friends, including fellow entertainers Alan Tam, Eric Tsang and Nick Cheung.

Icon Home Entertainment have announced the UK DVD and Blu-Ray releases of 'Horsemen Of The Apocalypse' (AKA 'The Horsemen') for the 19th October 2009. The film centres around a recently widowed detective who discovers a shocking connection between himself and the suspects in a serial killing spree.

Actor Jet Li has reiterated his desire to move away from action movies by taking a major role in the upcoming drama, 'Ocean Paradise'. Set in an aquarium, the film tells the simple story of a father and his autistic son, with Li playing the father and rising Chinese actor Wen Zhang as his son.

The 3-disc set will include the first 12 episodes of the romantic rock 'n' roll anime, which is based on the best selling manga by Ai Yazawa. The set will also include an exclusive 'Nana' guitar pick.

According to producer Terence Chang, director John Woo's next project will be the previously announced martial arts movie starring Michelle Yeoh. Entitled 'The Swordswoman's World', the film is set to have a budget of 100 million yuan and will feature Woo's own daughter, Angeles Woo in the role of a killer.

Eureka Entertainment have announced the UK DVD release of 'The Complete Lone Wolf & Cub Boxset' for the 16th November 2009. This 7-disc box set contains all six of the films from the hugely influential 'Lone Wolf And Cub' series, together with the classic 'Shogun Assassin'.
