Inspired by Wildgrounds' Japanese Blogathon, New Korean Cinema and cineAWESOME! are joining forces to create their own Korean Blogathon. For one week, they will run a dedicated blog which will allow everyone to share and discover opinions and ideas about Korean cinema.

MVM have announced the UK DVD release of 'Death Notice: Ikigami' for the 7th March, 2011. Directed by Takimoto Tomoyuki ('The Investigation Game'), the film is a dark and disturbing Japanese science-fiction saga that stars Matsuda Shota as the modern messenger of death.

Third Window Films have announced the UK theatrical release of 'Confessions' for the 18th February, 2011. Directed by genre-busting auteur Tetsuya Nakashima ('Kamikaze Girls'), the film is an emotionally devastating drama about a teacher's terrifying plan to avenge her daughter's murder.

The teaser trailer has been released for 'The Lost Bladesman', a new historical epic directed by Felix Chong and Alan Mak. The film stars Donnie Yen as Guan Yu, a real life Eastern Han Dynasty general who played a significant role in the civil war that led to the Dynasty's collapse.

19-year-old karate idol and actress Rina Takeda has been cast in Seiji Chiba’s upcoming action film 'Kunoichi'. Set sometime in the Sengoku period, the film will see Takeda playing a female ninja named Kisaragi who attempts to rescue a group of women being held captive.

From February 11th to 13th 2011, Third Window Films and the Coventry University East Asian Film Society present 'East Winds: A Third Window Film Festival'. Their goal is to raise awareness of Asian cinema to a university crowd who might normally not have a chance to see Asian cinema on the big screen.

PRE.GM have announced the Korean DVD release of 'Loveholic' for the 17th February, 2011. Directed by Kwon Chil-In, the film is an urban romantic drama that stars Choo Ja Hyun and Han Soo Yeon as two different types of women whose friendship and romance take rocky and unexpected turns.

The teaser trailer has been released for 'Seediq Bale: Flags Of The Sun', the first part in a new two part aborigine epic from director Wei Te-Sheng ('Cape No. 7'). Set in the 1930s, the story centres around the Sediq tribe's brave uprising against Japanese soldiers during their occupation of Taiwan.

PRE.GM have announced the Korean DVD release of 'Midnight FM' for the 28th February, 2011. Directed by Kim Sang Man ('Girl Scout'), the film stars Soo-ae as a late night Radio DJ who has the length of her show to try and save her family from a mysterious caller threatening to kill them.
