Warner Home Video have announced the US DVD release of 'Battle League Horumo' (AKA 'Kamogawa Horumo') for the 6th July, 2010. Based on Makime Manabu's best-selling fantasy novel, the film is a wildly inventive and entertaining action comedy from director Motoki Katsuhide ('Gegege no Kitaro').
Synopsis
It took two extra years of self-study but Akira (Yamada Takayuki) has finally made it into Kyoto University. While attending a welcome party hosted by Azure Dragon, he falls in love at first sight with one of the members and immediately signs up. It turns out Azure Dragon is no ordinary club though. The members represent their school in the 1000-year-old tradition of "Horumo" battle. Ten-member teams from different universities compete in battle by manipulating an army of 100 Oni spirits!
