'Beelzebub' Anime Coming To A Close
More bad news for anime fans this week as it has been revealed that the 60th episode of the anime adaptation of Ryuhei Tamura's 'Beelzebub' will be the last. Though the show is not as internationally well known as the likes of 'Bleach', the loss of Baby Beel's hilarious adventures will be mourned by many.
The story for 'Beelzebub' revolves around Oga Tatsumi, a strong juvenile delinquent at Ishiyama High. One day, he encounters a man floating down the river who splits in half, revealing a baby boy who bursts into electricity whenever he is upset. He soon learns from the child's wetnurse, Hildegarde, that this baby is Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV (Baby Beel for short), the son of the Demon King who has been sent to the human world in order to destroy it.
As with a lot of anime adaptations, the reason for the show's demise is down to the speed at which it is produced. Once it catches up to the manga, it either devolves into filler or comes to a close, and in this case it is the latter. The final episode will air in Japan on the 25th March, 2012.
