Universal Pictures and Stuber Productions are turning Spin Master's "Bakugan Battle Brawlers" anime series into a feature film. The show, which was a big hit on Cartoon Network, centres around creatures called Bakugan and the young human battle brawlers who wield them.
For those not in the know (myself included), this looks to be another Japanese stroke of merchandising genius that follows in the footsteps of shows like 'Pokemon', 'Yu-Gi-Oh' and 'Beyblade'. The "must own" toy from the franchise is a strategic game that uses magnetic cards and spring-loaded miniature figures that transform.
It's early days for the project at the moment as there aren't even any writers attached but in the meantime, I've included a little clip of the anime below.
