'CJ7' Gets An Animated Sequel

 

Stephen Chow is producing an animated sequel to his 2008 sci-fi comedy 'CJ7'. Directed by Yuen Kun To ('My Life As McDull'), the film will feature the same characters and setting from the live-action movie, although the story will be new. All of the original cast are also set to return, with the exception of Chow.

Just in case you missed it, 'CJ7' centres around a poor construction worker who struggles to keep his son in private school. When he finds an orb in a construction site, he mistakenly assumes it to be a discarded toy and takes it home for his son. However, the object turns out to be an alien creature with regenerative powers that ends up teaching important lessons to both father and son.

The animated sequel is due to hit mainland cinemas on the 6th July, 2010.
