Chan Builds His 'City' With Special Effects

 

Hong Kong director Benny Chan says his upcoming film, 'City Under Siege' will feature stunning special effects that will rival those seen in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'. Over half the movie will be made up of CGI scenes and Chan hopes to provide China's answer to the Hollywood blockbuster.

The story for the film revolves around a circus clown and his colleagues who start to experience physical changes when they accidentally ingest a biological gas. Aaron Kwok headlines with Shu Qi as his love interest, making this the first time the pair have worked together since 1998's 'The Storm Riders'. Other cast members include Zhang Jingchu ('Rush Hour 3') and Jacky Wu Jing ('Legendary Assassin').

The film is expected to open in Hong Kong next summer.
