'Countdown', the new thriller from debut director Heo Jong-ho, is now available to own on Korean DVD. The film follows the escalating escapades of a terminally ill man (Jung Jae Young) whose life is on countdown, and the coy swindler (Jeon Do Yeon) who can save him - if her enemies don't get to her first.
Synopsis
Debt collector Gun Ho (Jung Jae Young) is coldly efficient at his job, but he himself has many debts left unsettled. Diagnosed with terminal cancer, his only chance is to find a liver donor right away. When Gun Ho's son died five years ago, his organs were donated to five people. Gun Ho tracks down the five organ recipients asking them to return the favor, but they all refuse except for one: seductive scam artist Ha Yeon (Jeon Do Yeon), who will be released from prison in a few days. In exchange for her liver, Ha Yeon wants Gun Ho to help her find a man (Lee Kyung Young) first, but this turns out to be a difficult proposition, what with a crazed gangster (Oh Man Seok) on their tail and Ha Yeon constantly trying to make a run for it. Meanwhile, Gun Ho's minutes continue to tick away.
