If you are eagerly anticipating the upcoming 'Mei Lanfang' biopic with Zhang Ziyi and Leon Lai, you'll be pleased to hear that a promotional music video has been made available. The song is called "You Understand My Love" and was released on Tuesday, roughly two months ahead of the film's release.
Leon Lai, who plays the role of Mei Lanfang and is already an established pop singer, directed and produced the video. "For a long time, I couldn't take the film off my mind," said Lai
As for Zhang Ziyi, she may be no stranger to singing but this is her first music video featuring her own music. The actress, who plays Mei Lanfang's fellow singer Meng Xiaodong, said the video took her back to the days of shooting the film. "The character is one of my favorite," Zhang said, calling the love between Meng and Mei her "most impressive on-screen romance."
