Prachya Pinkaew To Direct 'Tekken' Prequel

 

Crystal Sky Pictures has announced that Dwight H. Little's live-action fighting video game movie 'Tekken' will be getting a prequel. Entitled 'Tekken: Rise Of The Tournament', the film will be directed by Prachya Pinkaew of 'Ong Bak' fame and is set to feature an entirely new cast.

No names are attached as of yet but Crystal Sky say that they aim to find actors who appear more like the characters in the game rather than just casting A-list stars. Not to get anyone's hopes up, but with Pinkaew on board there is a possibility that we could see a little Thai talent sneaking into the production.

'Tekken: Rise Of The Tournament' is aiming for a theatrical release in North America but no distribution deal is in place and a release date has not been set.
