Production Wraps On 'Kung Fu Hero'
Â
Production has now wrapped on 'Kung Fu Hero', a new traditional martial arts flick co-directed by Ning Ying and Yuen Cheung Yan. The film promises to showcase some of the most realistic Chinese kung fu ever seen on screen, and stars Tiger Chen, Jiang Meng Jie, Vanessa Branch and Arman Darbo.
According to British actress Vanessa Branch, there were plenty of dangerous moments during filming, "When shooting the cliff scene, the director told us to sit inside the jeep, and then the jeep was suspended by the cliff side with a crane, this is not something we would do in US. It was very exciting but precarious, and also very meaningful. It was the most unforgettable shoot in my life.
"The Chinese are very hardworking and able to take hardships, they work everyday, nonstop. In the US, we only work 5 days. The stuntmen are very manly, I respect them very much for their commitments, they are unaffected by fatigue and rigours, working their fingers to the bone. They are also very caring and gentlemanly."
Andre "Chyna" McCoy, who plays a professional killer hired by Vanessa Branch, feels that Tiger Chen's action scenes are absolutely outstanding, with the major highlight being the fight between Tiger and himself. The contrast of their two very different styles, Chen specialising in kung fu and McCoy utilising boxing/wrestling, makes for a very unique battle with several very special combinations.
'Kung Fu Hero' is currently awaiting a release date.
