'Sadako 3D' Gets A Sequel In Summer 2013
Â
Kadokawa Pictures have announced that they will release a sequel to the horror movie 'Sadako 3D' in the summer of 2013. Set a few years after the original, the story will revolve around a young girl who has inherited the genes of Sadako. The film is also expected to reveal the true purpose for Sadako's revival.
‘Sadako 3D’ was the latest installment in the popular ‘Ring‘ (AKA ‘Ringu‘) series, and was the first of the movies to venture into the world of 3D. The film proved to be a big success, with a cumulative revenue of more than 1,500,000,000 Yen ($19,228,500 USD).
Director Tsutomu Hanabusa is back on board for the sequel, along with original 'Ring' author Koji Suzuki. None of the cast will return however, as the story will feature an entirely new set of characters.
