Trailer For 'The Land Of Hope'

 

The trailer has been released for 'The Land Of Hope', an upcoming Japanese family drama directed by Sion Sono ('Love Exposure'). Co-produced by the UK's own Third Window Films, the movie follows a family who have to flee their rural farm after an earthquake causes a nuclear station to explode.

Synopsis

An old couple, their only son, the son's wife, a young man and his lover live peacefully in a village. Then, a terrifying earthquake strikes that causes a nearby nuclear station to explode. The residents must evacuate, but the family lives on a farm, with only half of the area designated as an evacuation area. Meanwhile, wife Izumi (Megumi Kagurazaka) learns she is pregnant.

'The Land Of Hope' stars Isao Natsuyagi, Naoko Otani, Jun Murakami, Megumi Kagurazaka, Yutaka Shimizu, and Hikari Kajiwara. The film is due for release across Japan on the 20th October, 2012.
