Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘18×2 Beyond Youthful Days’

Deltamac are bringing the 2024 Taiwanese-Japanese romantic drama ’18×2 Beyond Youthful Days’ (青春18×2 君へと続く道) to Taiwanese Blu-ray and DVD on September 5, 2025.

Based on a viral travelogue blog by Jimmy Lai and directed by Michihito Fujii, the film follows a recently fired Taiwanese video game developer on a solo trip to Japan, reminiscing about a past romantic entanglement with a Japanese backpacker. The cast includes Greg Hsu, Kaya Kiyohara, Joseph Chang, Shunsuke Michieda, and Haru Kuroki.

Synopsis: After hitting rock bottom in his work, Taiwan game developer Jimmy (Greg Hsu) takes off by slow train on a trip across Japan. As he travels from place to place, his memories take him back to that summer 18 years ago in Tainan when he met Ami (Kiyohara Kara), a Japanese backpacker who lost her wallet. The two worked together briefly at the same karaoke shop, and Jimmy fell headfirst into first love with Ami whose dream was to travel the world. Years later, Jimmy traces Ami’s footsteps, encountering different people along the way, while thinking about his own footsteps, choices and regrets that have led him to this point in his life.
