Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘A Gilded Game’

Universe Laser are bringing the 2025 Hong Kong-Chinese crime drama ‘A Gilded Game’ (獵金·遊戲) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on August 1, 2025.

Co-written and directed by Herman Yau, the film revolves around a finance student who accidentally becomes the disciple of a financial guru and quickly finds himself experiencing the highs and lows of the industry. The cast includes Andy Lau, Ou Hao, Ni Ni, Huang Yi, Jiang Mengjie, and Kent Cheng.

Synopsis: Fresh out of university, Gao Han (Ou Hao) is eager to make a difference in the financial world. At the recommendation of his friend Chu Feng (Jasper Liu), whose family’s energy business Zhuo Neng is preparing to go public in Hong Kong, Gao Han becomes an intern at the international investment bank sponsoring the listing. Under the leadership of chief analyst Todd (Andy Lau), Gao Han grows and adapts quickly – so quickly that he loses his way. Amid the pressure of trying to earn an official position and the corrupting influences within the bank, Gao Han betrays his mentor, only to learn that he is just a pawn in a bigger game to take over Zhuo Neng.
