Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘The Last Dance’

Universe Laser are bringing the 2024 Hong Kong drama ‘The Last Dance’ (破·地獄) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on April 4, 2025.

Written and directed by Anselm Chan, the film follows a wedding planner who enters the funeral industry to work with a traditional Taoist priest, seeking to understand the meaning of life and death through funeral rituals. The cast includes Dayo Wong, Michael Hui, Michelle Wai, Catherine Chow, Paul Chun Pui, and Tommy Chu.

Synopsis: With the wedding industry taking a hit during the pandemic, wedding planner Dominic Ngai (Dayo Wong) decides to take over the funeral parlor of his girlfriend’s uncle. Dominic immediately brings in new ideas and modern gimmicks that aren’t welcomed by business partner Master Man (Michael Hui), who performs the Taoist funeral rituals. Man adheres strictly to tradition, a sore point for both his tired son Ben (Chu Pak Hong) forced to follow in his footsteps, and his headstrong daughter Yuet (Michelle Wai) who is excluded from the family business because she’s a woman.
