88 Films are bringing the 1975 Japanese action adventure ‘Detonation! Violent Riders’ (爆発!暴走族) to UK Blu-ray on June 30 and to US Blu-ray on July 22, 2025.
Co-written and directed by Teruo Ishii, the film revolves around a wild-hearted mechanic who falls in love with an innocent but gang-tied girl. The cast includes Koichi Iwaki, Tomoko Ai, Sonny Chiba, Yusuke Natsu, and Junko Matsudaira.
Synopsis: Iwaki (Koichi Iwaki) is a motorcycle mechanic with a fierce dream to become a professional racer. He gets a bit distracted when he falls for the lovely Michiko (Tomoko Ai). While she is sweet, her brother Tsugami (Sonny Chiba) has a bit of a temper and does not approve of her dating Iwaki. Making things worse is the leader of the outlaw Red Rose Gang (Yusuke Natsu), who also has his eyes on Michiko. Iwaki might be stomped into a speed bump before he gets a chance to take a checkered flag.
