Blu-ray release: ‘Erotic Ghost Story’

88 Films are bringing the 1990 Hong Kong supernatural fantasy horror movie ‘Erotic Ghost Story’ (聊齋艷譚) to UK Blu-ray on June 21, 2021.

Directed by Lam Nai-Choi, the film revolves around three female “fox fairies” who have been granted human form and must resist temptations in order to become immortal. The cast includes Amy Yip, Man Siu, Hitomi Kudo, Tan Lap-Man, Ha Chi-Chun, and Manfred Wong.

Synopsis: Three fox fairies have meditated for 1,000 years to able to shed their animal natures and become human. For the final month of their rigors, they move near a village where women pray to a god of fertility. One sister visits the god’s temple and thinks lustful thoughts. As she leaves, a priest confronts her, warning of dire consequences and of demons that will try to stop the fairies’ transformation.
