Blu-ray release: ‘Japan Organized Crime Boss’

Radiance Films are bringing the 1969 Japanese yakuza movie ‘Japan Organized Crime Boss’ (日本暴力団 組長) to US and UK Blu-ray on November 18/19, 2024.
Co-written and directed by Kinji Fukasaku, the film revolves around a recently released gang leader who is thrust into the middle of a conflict between two yakuza factions. The cast includes Koji Tsuruta, Tomisaburo Wakayama, Bunta Sagawara, Noboru Ando, and Michitaro Mizushima.
Synopsis: Two major yakuza factions from Tokyo and Osaka battle over control of Yokohama, using local gangs as their proxies. Amid this violent struggle, Tsukamoto (Koji Tsuruta), the head of one of the local gangs, is released from an eight-year prison sentence. The feud forces him into action, but he learns that those pulling the strings have political connections and that he is up against overwhelming forces.
