Blu-ray release: ‘Kamen Rider Amazon’

Discotek Media are bringing the 1974-1975 Japanese tokusatsu television series ‘Kamen Rider Amazon’ (仮面ライダーアマゾン) to US Blu-ray on October 28, 2025.

Directed by Masahiro Tsukada, the series follows a jungle-raised hero who transforms into a reptilian mutant to battle an evil empire in Japan that massacred his homeland’s inhabitants. The cast includes Toru Okazaki, Akiji Kobayashi, Yoji Matsuda, Mariko Matsuoka, and Ryuji Saikachi.

Synopsis: Led by the terrible Ten-Faced Demon, the ferocious forces of Gedon burn through the rainforest in search of the Gigi Armlet—an ancient Incan artefact of untold power! In a last-ditch effort to safeguard the relic, it is grafted onto the body of an orphan simply known as Amazon. Now imbued with superhuman abilities, the feral hero travels to Japan in order to rip apart Gedon’s plans for world domination! However, when a young boy gets caught up in the battle, he realises that Amazon’s fighting form looks kind of like a rider… A Kamen Rider!
