Blu-ray release: ‘Special Investigation Robo Janperson’

Discotek Media are bringing the 1993-1994 Japanese tokusatsu TV show ‘Special Investigation Robo Janperson’ (特捜ロボ ジャンパーソン / Tokusou Robo Janperson) to US Blu-ray on May 27, 2025.

Directed by Michio Konishi, the series revolves around a robotic detective who patrols the streets of Tokyo and fights against three different underworld organizations that use super technology to subjugate the masses. The cast includes Tomoko Kawashima, Shigeo Tomita, Shun Sugata, Kimiko Imai, and Akiko Yugawa.

Synopsis: Tokyo is thrown into a crisis when a hi-tech rogues’ gallery of criminals suddenly emerges from the shadows! With no one brave enough to stop these brazen bad guys, it’s up to a mysterious new hero to fight back—the Special Investigation Robo Janperson! From corporate megalomaniacs to literal metalheads, no case is too dangerous for this automated officer and his cutting-edge crime fighting arsenal!
