‘No Other Choice’ (어쩔수가없다) is a 2025 South Korean black comedy thriller co-written and directed by Park Chan-Wook.
Based on the novel ‘The Ax’ by Donald Westlake, the film follows a man who engages in a desperate hunt for new employment after being fired from a position he has held for 25 years. The cast includes Lee Byung-Hun, Son Ye-Jin, Park Hee-Soon, Lee Sung-Min, and Yum Hye-Ran.
Synopsis: Yoo Man-Soo (Lee Byung-Hun), married to Mi-Ri (Son Ye-Jin), shares a loving home with their two children in a house they worked hard to own. For 25 years, Man-Soo has been a dedicated employee at a paper company, finding contentment in his stable life. However, his world is upended when he’s unexpectedly fired. Now, he faces a desperate struggle to secure a new job, determined to safeguard his family’s future and their cherished home. [© Far East Films]
