Japanese film company Toho has announced the production of a new feature-length Godzilla animation, the first animated feature in Godzilla’s 62-year history.
Kobun Shizuno (‘Detective Conan’) and Hiroyuki Seshita (‘Knights of Sidonia’) are co-directing, while Gen Urobuchi (‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica’, ‘Psycho-Pass: The Movie’) is penning the screenplay.
“We’re aiming to make a big-scale animation entertainment that people who love Godzilla and people who know nothing about him can both enjoy,” said Shizuno.
‘Godzilla’ is set for release in 2017.
