‘Against All Odds’ (营救飞虎) is a 2025 Chinese action war drama co-written and directed by Lau Ho-Leung.
The film depicts a 1944 Hong Kong mission where a pilot’s rescue by guerrillas clashes with an assassination plot, forcing a united escape through an enemy blockade. The cast includes Han Geng, Mitchell Hoog, Chen Yongsheng, Louise Wong, Han Mo, Hiroyuki Mori, and Philip Ng.
Synopsis: In 1944, occupied Hong Kong suffers under Japanese rule. James, an American Flying Tigers pilot, is shot down and targeted for rescue by East River Column guerrillas—Sha Dan Zai, San Jia Jie, Dan Dao, and Xia Mi—at a Japanese military club. Concurrently, undercover operative Huan Shao plans to assassinate a Japanese officer there, but the missions clash, exposing Huan Shao. Joining forces, they lead James through a desperate escape, breaking the Japanese blockade in a bloody dawn at Dapeng Bay. [© Far East Films]
