‘Because I Hate Korea’ (한국이 싫어서) is a 2024 South Korean drama written and directed by Jang Kun-Jae.
Based on the novel ‘Hankookyi Sileoseo’ by Jang Kang-Myeong, the film follows a woman in her late 20s who suddenly leaves her job, family, and boyfriend behind to go to New Zealand alone in search of happiness. The cast includes Ko Ah-Sung, Joo Jong-Hyuk, Kim Woo-Kyum, Bang Jae-Min, and Lee Sang-Hee.
Synopsis: Kye-Na (Ko Ah-Sung) decides to leave South Korea for two reasons: “I hate Korea” and “I can’t live here.” She leaves behind her job, family, and boyfriend, to go to New Zealand and find her own happiness. [Source: AsianWiki]
