‘Brief History of a Family’ (家庭简史) is a 2025 Chinese psychological thriller written and directed by Lin Jianjie.

The film follows a rich Chinese family whose strained relationships shift when their son brings home a quiet, abused teen, revealing secrets and emotions that reshape their home. The cast includes Zu Feng, Guo Keyu, Sun Xilun, and Lin Muran.

Synopsis: A wealthy Chinese family of three shares tense, silent dinners. After a schoolyard fight, Wei Tu brings home Shuo Yan, a quiet, driven teen who lost his mother and faces abuse from his father.
