‘Chase After You’ (追你而来) is a 2023 Chinese action comedy directed by Yang Yi.
The film revolves around a recently released ex-con and a runaway bride who are united in their attempts to escape their pasts but it isn’t long before their former lives start to catch up with them. The cast includes Fan Siu-Wong, Luo Mi, Ding Haifeng, Yang Yi, Alan Aruna, and Wang Yutian.
Synopsis: Luo Yang is released from prison and is told by his “big brother” Gu Ziyu, the leader of a criminal gang, that his mother’s last wish is to seize a mysterious dzi bead from Nepal. Meanwhile, Michelle is being forced to marry Gu Ziyu under the pressure of her mother, but after witnessing him commit a murder she ditches him at the altar. During her escape, she meets Luo Yang who is headed for the airport and she begs him to take her with him. After a bit of pestering, he finally agrees and the two of them start a tug-of-war after they arrive in Nepal. The short time they spend together makes them fall in love with each other, but a greater challenge of life and death awaits them… [© Far East Films]
