‘Hurdle’ (허들) is a 2025 South Korean sports drama written and directed by Han Sang-Wook.

The film portrays a young athlete whose ambitions unravel when a family crisis exposes the limits of effort and fairness. The cast includes Choi Ye-Bin, Kim Young-Jae, Kwon Hee-Song, Lee Joong-Ok, and Bae Yoo-Ram.

Synopsis: A gifted high-school hurdler on the brink of a professional breakthrough sees her carefully disciplined life collapse when her sole parent is suddenly incapacitated, leaving her trapped between mounting debt, institutional indifference, and a future that depends on a single athletic decision she can no longer control. As selection politics favour another athlete and the safety net she trusted disappears, the race that defines her life shifts from the track to a moral and emotional struggle against time, poverty, and expectation. What unfolds is not a story about clearing the final hurdle, but about how far a young person can be pushed before the cost of endurance becomes too high. [© Far East Films]

‘Hurdle’ opened across South Korea on December 3, 2025.
