‘Illuminant Object’ (象山发光事件) is a 2025 Chinese supernatural horror movie written and directed by Zhao Yu.

The film follows a man who returns to a mysterious light phenomenon with a documentary crew, only to confront nightmarish distortions and a deadly truth behind the glow. The cast includes Xiao Shenyang, Wang Wei, Zhang Dengping, Ni Jingyang, and Tian Li.

Synopsis: Ten years ago, a mysterious supernatural light phenomenon caused Zhang Peng’s (Xiao Shenyang) close friend to vanish without a trace. A decade later, Zhang joins a film crew returning to the site to uncover the truth. But as they step once more into the so-called “Forbidden Zone of Light,” they encounter a series of bizarre and terrifying events — their perception distorts, their bodies deteriorate, and their sanity begins to unravel.
