‘My First of May’ (無名指) is a 2025 Hong Kong drama written and directed by James Hung.
The film follows a family, torn apart by illness, as they reconnect through love and their daughter’s faint pinky finger movement. The cast includes Aaron Kwok, Gigi Leung, Natalie Hsu, Paw Hee-Ching, and Patrick Tam Yiu-Man.
Synopsis: Former squash champion Tang Shuk-yin (Aaron Kwok) and his wife Yeung Ching-him (Gigi Leung) face family turmoil when their daughter Tang Chi (Natalie Hsu) is diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and Tang’s mother (Paw Hee-Ching) with cancer, straining their once-close three-generation family; years later, as they confront life-and-death challenges, they struggle between holding on and letting go, reconnecting through the faint movement of their daughter’s pinky finger.
