‘Near the Heaven’ (天堂附近) is a 2025 Chinese drama written and directed by Liao Liang.

The film follows a former prisoner who returns to a seaside town and finds unexpected redemption through human connection. The cast includes Yu You, Feng Junhao, Han Yichen, Shangguan Pengbo, and Kong Zirou.

Synopsis: After his release from prison, Xiaofeng develops a heart condition and returns to the seaside town he left more than a decade earlier while awaiting surgery. There, memories of a formative “little angel” lead him to connect with Chubing, Zhou Qun, and Fat Brother, quietly reshaping his outlook on life. Although Xiaofeng and Chubing grow close, an unbridgeable divide keeps them apart, and through their shared hatred of human traffickers, lingering regrets find an unexpected form of resolution.
