‘Not Me That Went Viral’ (俺ではない炎上) is a 2025 Japanese mystery drama directed by Atsuhiro Yamada.
Based on the novel ‘Ore de wa Nai Enjo’ by Akinari Asakura, the film follows a framed employee’s desperate quest to clear his name after a murder photo spreads from his social media account. The cast includes Hiroshi Abe, Yui Natsukawa, Mana Ashida, Taiyu Fujiwara, and Kento Nagao.
Synopsis: Taiyo Yamagata (Hiroshi Abe), a devoted employee at a major homebuilding company, is suddenly framed as a murderer when a photo of a female college student’s body is posted from what seems to be his social media account, despite his protests of innocence. As the internet erupts into a frenzy, anonymous mobs uncover his personal details, turning him into a nationwide target. Caught in the chaos are Sakura (Mana Ashida), a mysterious college student; Soma (Daisuke Fujiwara), a popular student influencer; Aoe (Kento Nagao), a young employee from a partner company; and Taiyo’s wife, Fuyuko (Yui Natsukawa), whose intertwining stories lead to unpredictable twists.
