‘Rewrite’ (リライト) is a 2025 Japanese fantasy romantic drama directed by Daigo Matsui.

Based on a novel by Haruka Hojo, the film revolves around a high school girl who falls in love with a transfer student who has travelled back 300 years from the future just to meet her. The cast includes Elaiza Ikeda, Kei Adachi, Ai Hashimoto, Sayu Kubota, and Yuki Kura.

Synopsis: In the summer of Miyuki’s third year of high school, a transfer student named Yasuhiko arrives. He has read a certain novel and, inspired by it, time-travelled back 300 years from the future. Miyuki shares a secret with Yasuhiko, and eventually, the two fall in love. Then, on July 21, fate takes a significant turn. After Yasuhiko gives her a drug, Miyuki time-travels ten years into the future. The future version of Miyuki shows her a book and says, “This is the novel you will write… You can definitely do it.” It was the same novel that Yasuhiko would read in the future. After returning from her time leap, Miyuki sees him off as he returns to the future. She makes a promise to write the story of the summer they spent together and to complete the time loop.
