‘The Coffin Painter’ (异乡来客) is a 2024 Chinese crime drama written and directed by Da Fei.
The film revolves around a coffin painter who vows to avenge his son’s murder, but the arrival of a mother and her daughter prompts a shift in his intentions. The cast includes Lopsang, Zhang Zimu, Liu Lu, and Mardy Ma.
Synopsis: An old coffin painter, whose son was murdered, waits for the killer to leave prison. A mother and her daughter move to his neighbourhood, which changes him. Will he still want vengeance?
