‘The Informant’ (정보원) is a 2025 South Korean action comedy written and directed by Kim Suk.
The film follows a demoted detective who is dragged into a deadly plot and an uneasy alliance after his informant betrays him. The cast includes Heo Sung-Tae, Jo Bok-Rae, Seo Min-Joo, Cha Soon-Bae, and Jang Hyuk-Jin.
Synopsis: After a meticulously planned operation collapses and he’s demoted, detective Oh Nam-hyuk loses his passion, resolve, and investigative instincts, wanting nothing more than one big score before retiring. Hoping to turn his life around, he tries to use his informant, Jo Tae-bong, who instead betrays him by stealing hidden cash and cutting ties. When Nam-hyuk arrives late at the smuggling ring’s office, he’s abducted by a mysterious group, dragging him—and the untrustworthy Tae-bong—into a life-threatening criminal mess. Forced together despite conflicting motives, the two embark on a reluctant and mismatched joint investigation. [© Far East Films]
